Major Fundraisers

  • Dollars 4 Dolphins (Fall Semester) - is our direct donation drive held in the fall of each school year. This is one of our two major fundraisers for the year and provides a large portion of our funds that are used to support our students and teachers. 

  • Color Run (Spring Semester) - is our direct donation drive held in the spring of each school year. This is our second major fundraiser. Students will ask family and friends to sponsor them in their Color Run! This is a big event that the students, teachers, staff and parents love! Many volunteers will be needed to plan the event and to provide assistance on the day of the Color Run.

  • Slushie Days - are a fun opportunity we use to make an ordinary school day special. We love partnering with Babble Coffee and Boba Tea Bar, a local boba and drink specialty cafe, for our Slushie Days. PTO tries to have one slushie day each month during the school year. All options are dairy-free, and we now have one dye-free option as well. All orders will need to be placed online on your registered account as they are delivered to specific students. If you would like to purchase for your student's entire class or additional friends, please email in advance.

  • Santa Store - is a unique opportunity for students to shop for friends and family members during the holiday season. Students are able to visit the store during their lunch break to purchase gifts. Every year, we try to purchase items for a variety of price points and for a variety of intended recipients (e.g., mom, dad, grandmother, grandfather, siblings, cousins, etc.). Volunteers will be needed during this event to help the students manage their money, choose gifts, and wrap their presents. 

  • Spirit Wear - is a great way to celebrate our school community and help raise funds for our school. Each year we design, or have designed, a unique shirt to show our school spirit and highlight our awesome Dolphins! We typically offer shirts of various size and colors, as well as hoodies.

  • School Supplies - is a program where PTO has partnered with 1st Day School Supplies to create kits that include all of the needed school supplies from the Putnam City wide list for each student. The kits are purchased online through the 1st Day website and can range from $45-60. Additional items like backpacks and lunchboxes can also be purchased. The program is a fundraiser as a few additional dollars are added to their quoted price for each kit, but it also is a wonderful service we help to coordinate for our parents saving time and stress as the school year starts. The orders must be completed by July 1st during the summer to arrive by the first day of school.

  • Popcorn Fridays - are other fun days for the students where PTO provides a special treat throughout the school year. Popcorn Fridays are usually once a month during lunches. It takes many volunteers to keep Popcorn Fridays running smoothly. If you cannot volunteer hours, please donate to the popcorn fund to keep this exciting day going strong for our kiddos. You also need to register and fill out the consent form for your child to participate as these are not done by individual sale.

Family Event Fundraisers

  • Turkey Bingo - is a newer event that is hosted in November. This event is a fun family night that helps us celebrate our major fall fundraiser and raise some additional funds. Bingo cards and raffle tickets are sold, along with dinner and concessions. Prizes can include turkeys, pies, gift baskets, fall decorations, toys, etc. It is a really fun night, and we encourage everyone to attend regardless of participation in the fall fundraiser.

  • Dolphin Ball- is a special evening in February for the Dennis girls and their adult chaperone. Enjoy a catered dinner and entertainment provided by a professional DJ! There will also be a photographer available for capturing pictures of this memorable evening. A volunteer photographer is needed for this event. Volunteers are also needed to plan, decorate, and oversee the evening’s festivities. 

  • Boys Event - is a fun-filled evening in April for the Dennis boys and their adult chaperone. The activities of the Boys Event change every year. In the past, we've had board game nights and dodge ball tournaments. Dinner will be catered. There will also be a photographer available to take pictures at this event. A volunteer photographer is needed for this event.  Volunteers are also needed to plan, decorate, and oversee the evening’s festivities.

Coordinated Activities

These activities are not fundraisers for PTO and all funds that are collected via PTO mechanisms are directly spent on these activities. No funds are kept by PTO, but PTO parents generally help coordinate these on behalf of the school along with teachers and administrators.

Care Share - During the holiday season parents and teachers help coordinate the school's donations to CareShare. This is a wonderful program that helps ensure a special holiday season for children and families in need within the Putnam City District. Volunteers are needed to help shop for needed items and deliver to the recipient's school. 


Holiday Classroom Parties - The classroom parties will take place in December and February.  Parents help coordinate with teachers and staff so that these parties run smoothly. We help collect donations schoolwide that get distributed evenly among our classrooms. Teachers will reach out to parents for assistance in these parties as needed.
